What Makes Me Beautiful
I have come to believe that true beauty is not on the outside. I believe that society influences beautiful women to think they are not beautiful because of narrow ideals. I think that one can have some beautiful features, such as sapphire eyes or lush lips. But I think a woman is so much more beautiful when she has the heart and soul to make the mirror reflection so worthwhile. A woman is beautiful when she gives to others and helps out friends and strangers in need of someone who cares. A woman is beautiful when she does not deny herself of her true identity and her real beauty.
I am beautiful because I know I do not have to meet society's standards in order to be beautiful.
I am beautiful because I have hazy brown eyes that have endured a beautifully broken life.
I am beautiful because I believe in love and dreams.
I am beautiful because my soul is composed of substance that represents who I truly am.
I am beautiful because I know my personal assessment in the mirror does not determine my beauty.
I am beautiful because I am involved in charity.
I am beautiful because I will always be there for a friend who needs a supportive shoulder and a listening ear.
I am beautiful because any stranger can trust me if they need me.
I am beautiful because I am true to myself.
I am beautiful because I am honest with myself and as real as I can be.
I am Mary.
I am beautiful regardless of what you think of me. I am beautiful no matter what picture of me you see. I am beautiful because I am me.
Explain why you are beautiful, but read this post first.
Love, Mary

You forgot to mention your gorgeous brown hair. =]
@awokenfatality@xanga - Aww, thank you! I have never touched hair dye or highlighting, and I have friends who tell me they couldn't forgive me if I did! If that is you in your profile picture, I adore your curls! :)
@two_days_until_forever - I wouldn't be to forgive you either, its such a rich color. Thank you! Although my hair has been too altered by hair dye. Heh.
Thats very sweet. I should do something like that about me.
@awokenfatality@xanga - That's very sweet! I don't think I'll change anything, at least not for a number of years. How drastically did you change the color?
@Conformist_Metaljunk@xanga - Thanks! :) You definitely should; I would love to read it!
@two_days_until_forever - I have the tendency to dye my hair every few months. It's naturally a really dark brown almost black, and the most drastic I've taken it was a light golden blonde/brown. Didn't dry out my thankfully.
@awokenfatality@xanga - My best friend is similar but it's always different shades of blonde. Her hair has remained in pretty good health for how often she dyes it! That sounds like a lot of fun to try out so many colors, though!
@two_days_until_forever - Yeah, but you end up missing your natural hair color and if you're hair is long, it takes forever to grow out. I also hear because of all the chemicals, it never returns to your natural hair color.
@awokenfatality@xanga - I can imagine that. My hair is very long, so I probably wouldn't venture into anything beyond highlights. You can probably only dye your hair a shade similar to your natural color.
@two_days_until_forever - That is my plan, and let it grow out.
@awokenfatality@xanga - Great! Best of luck!
